Who is Cerberus?

A modern twist on the relationship between the god of the underworld and his pet charged with protecting his domain.

Cerberus: Legacy Forged in Blood (available now on Amazon)tells the story of a young man named Michael. Orphaned at ten, he is taken in by a friend of the family who became a seemingly benevolent guardian with a hidden agenda. As Michael matures he discovers his incredible talents and a gift inherited from his parents. His abilities are refined over time as he learns how the world works and that it’s not always a good place. His journey to the truth leads to self-discovery and complex moral choices as he is mentored by a man who develops an unbreakable bond with the young man through their mutual love of Greek mythology. His quest will plunge him into dangerous situations and introduce him to someone who will change his outlook on life, but when he finally learns the truth, Michael will be forced to make the most difficult decision he has ever faced.

The relationship between this young boy and his guardian is ironically similar to the relationship between the Greek god Hades and his pet, the three-headed beast named Cerberus. Cerberus was the century in charge of guarding the entrance to the underworld that runs along the river Styx. Legend depicts Cerberus as loyal to Hades, but this story takes the relationship one step further exploring what happens when betrayal is introduced.

The first full-length novel by Marty Caise, this story represents the author’s love of complex characters who are filled with conflict and deep rooted sensitivity. His stories often include unexpected and dark twists with endings that will leave you wanting more. Cerberus: Legacy Forged In Blood is arguably the most sinister and dark story the author has ever written.
