The first and obvious change is the design of the web site. With the help of some good writer and web developer friends who offered suggestions, I made a few changes. I didn’t want to make it overly complicated with direct e-commerce links and embedded social media content (sorry Jake), but I am happy with the result.

I’ve continued writing. That hasn’t changed. What has changed is my focus on improving as a writer. I have attended a number of online workshops and taking the advice of a dear friend and fellow writer (HUGE THANKS TO NICHOL @nixcomix) I have found a number of resources that have helped me improve the vocabulary of my storytelling that gave my stories more depth emotion and substance. To that end I have created a few new short stories that I am giving away for FREE. Read The Rupture Protocol and The Guardian: The Soldier Who Became a Ghost.

While I continue to write, I haven’t lost my passion for all things tech, and with the continued evolution of AI (which I know pisses off a lot of writers and illustrators), I have taken the approach of improving my writing with AI. Not to write the stories, but to suggest changes in vocabulary, atmosphere, and transitional tense. I designed my new “built-in reviewer” using a few AI tools like ChatGPT and NotebookLM. I used some of the resources recommended by some of my author friends (one in particular is the writer’s guide thesaurus series written by Becca Puglisi). It allows me to plug passages and chapters into the AI and get back suggestions on areas I can improve and tell the stories I want that fit with readers of different reading levels. The early returns from my human reviewers has been very positive and continue to work with my tech tools to become a better writer.

Questions have swirled around via email and social media messages about my old books. After blowing through the remaining stock I had on hand (THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT COPIES), I decided it was time to plan a re-release that would include new cover art. The plan is to release them sometime in the fall, so stay tuned.
